Directions for Southbound Travelers

  • Just after milepost 321 turn right to exit the Parkway onto US-72
  • At the bottom of the ramp, turn left (west) onto US-72
  • Go 11.6 mile on US-72
  • Turn left (south) onto MS-25
  • Go 16.5 miles on MS-25
  • Turn right (west) onto MS-4
  • Go 6.7 miles on MS-4
  • Turn left onto John Rankin HWY (County Road 1)
  • Go 1 mile
  • Turn right onto ramp to Natchez Trace Parkway
  • Turn left to go south on the Parkway

Northbound Bay Springs to HWY 72
  • Exit the Natchez Trace Parkway at milepost 293.4 (just past Tombigbee Waterway)
  • At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn left onto John Rankin Hwy (County Road 1)
  • Go 1 mile on John Rankin Hwy (County Road 1)
  • Turn right (east) onto MS-4
  • Go 6.7 miles on MS-4
  • Turn left (north) onto MS-25
  • Go 16.5 miles on MS-25
  • Turn right (east) onto US-72
  • Go 11.6 miles on US-72
  • Turn right onto Natchez Trace Parkway ramp, and head north (to Nashville)
 

Additional Information


With two detours in place, there are only 27 miles of the Parkway open between McCullough Blvd, and Hwy 72 in Alabama. Although it is not an official detour route, some travelers may want to take the direct route on HWY 45. HWY 45 has exits at McCullough Blvd in Tupelo, and HWY 72 in Corinth, MS (HWY 72 runs between Cherokee, AL and Corinth, MS)

Don’t forget when you are in Tupelo, MS to stop by the Parkway Visitor Center which can be accessed from N. Gloster Ave (MS-145).

The Visitor Center is open during normal business hours seven days a week. The visitor center is closed Thanksgiving, December 25th and January 1st.
