National Memorial Arch

1910

The National Memorial Arch is located where the Continental Army entered into the Valley Forge Encampment on December 9th, 1777. It was erected by the U.S. Government on June 25th, 1910 and later transferred to the custody of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The arch, designed by Paul. P. Cret, is a simplified version of Rome's Triumphal Arch of Titus, which dates to 81 A.D.
