Farm of H. Miller at Joplin Road and Quantico Creek
1935

Charles Gerner, from the National Park Service, captured this image while on a explorative trip to the area to assess its potential as a Recreation Demonstration Area. Government officials deemed the soils and farmland as overworked and only able to produce practical sustinence of life, if that. Products were corn, wheat, potatoes, green vegetables, oats and hay, and those found extremely small dollar sales.
