Taylor Family
c. 1924

Robert and Jennie Taylor are pictured here with two of their six children, Estelle, age 2, and John, age 6. They moved to what would become Taylor Farm around 1900. It would be one of the more the elaborate settlements in the park. Robert was a miner, but he also cleared timber and hauled it to Quantico by horse drawn carriage to supplement the family income. They also had a store where they sold everything from salt to bib overalls. The store also served as a meeting place, providing social as well as economic value to the community.
