This drum was made by Elmer Paul for Nez Perce National Historical Park for interpretive use. Elmer was an experienced artist and familiar with traditional ways. The drum frame is made from a cottonwood log and the heads are made from bison hide . The heads are laced to each other using rawhide strips.
