Headdress
c 1875 -1900
This headdress consists of a rawhide hat with a beaded front panel and two skunk skins. The style differs from the traditional feather bonnet common on the Plateau and Northern Plains. It is associated with the spirit power of the owner. The skunk skins appear to have been commercially tanned.
