Mocassins
c 1925
Made by Helen Youngman
Moccasin construction required knowledge of animal hides and a skilled hand to assemble the various pieces into a moccasin. Among the peoples of the Columbia Plateau, it appears their footwear was almost exclusively moccasins. These are fully beaded on the tops with glass beads and decorated on the sides and back with beads and trade cloth.
