The Matterhorn
By Albert Bierstadt
n.d.

This dramatic mountain view was added to the Mansion collection in the 1960s by Laurance Rockefeller, who had climbed the Matterhorn as a young man. It hangs in his study in the Mansion, where it serves as a companion image to Biestadt’s “Scenery in the Grand Tetons”.
