Dining Table
c 1845
Drop-leaf table with gate leg, Empire style, turned legs

The Lincolns did not have a formal dining room for many years, making this space-saving table a necessity when eating in the kitchen.  Even later, with three sons and a dining room, the Lincolns used the table until it was given to a furniture store clerk when the Lincolns left for Washington in 1861.
