Rocking Chair (reproduction)
1985-1987

Although this comfortable rocker (reproduction) and its twin were conveniently placed in front of the sitting room fireplace, Lincoln preferred to flip the chair over and leaned on the back while sitting on the floor. One of the original rockers was given to Booker T. Washington during a visit to the Lincoln Home and is now at Tuskegee Institute. The other has been lost.
