From December 1, 1779, to June 23, 1780, during the second Morristown encampment, General Washington lived and made his headquarters in the Ford Mansion that is now part of Morristown National Historic Park. This is the first known depiction of the Ford mansion created for Jared Sparks and his biography of Washington.
