Robert Francis Williams
1957

In 1938, Williams and his wife embarked on a journey from their home in Queens, New York through several national parks. Of all the parks he visited, he was most inspired by Death Valley. In 1954, he and his wife returned to the park and lived there for three years, during which time he painted this section of Red Cathedral, off of Golden Canyon.
