John Paul Chase

Chase, an inmate at Alcatraz, completed a series of ten paintings on artboard panels depicting a 180-degree panoramic view of San Francisco Bay from Telegraph Hill to Tiburon. This panel sweeps west along the northern edge of San Francisco, showing the domed Palace of Fine Arts and the beginnings of the Presidio of San Francisco.
