Augusta Fisher Homer Saint-Gaudens

Augusta Saint-Gaudens was born in Roxbury, Massachusetts. Her mother was a first cousin to the painter Winslow Homer. Augusta met her husband, Augustus Saint-Gaudens, while she was studying painting in Rome. They had one son, Homer, who was born in 1880. Augusta was a talented artist who also managed her husband’s studio and correspondence. This painting, from one of her European travels, shows the village of La Roche in Belgium.
