Bielenberg took great pride in his horse breeding program. He developed the “Big Circle” horse, a forerunner of today’s quarter horse. A cross between a Thoroughbred stud and mares of no particular bloodline, the Big Circle horses could easily cover a twenty mile circle rounding up cattle on the open range.
