Chaps
c 1868 - 1890
Made by E.L. Gallatin & Co., Cheyenne, Wyoming
These shotgun-style chaps, named for the straight legs, gave Conrad Kohrs protection from rough brush and a little extra warmth. “Woolies”, chaps with sheep’s wool or goat hair would have been warmer, but a little too flamboyant for the down-to-earth cattleman.

Leather. L 96.5, W 33, D 10.2 cm (pants)
