he hole through this bible was made by the bullet that killed John Cassidy, Company H, 69th Pennsylvania Infantry. He fell at Gettysburg during fighting on July 3, 1863. On the inside, it is inscribed with the following: John Cassidy, January 27, 1862. Presented by Rev. Father Martin, Chaplin, 69th Regiment at Camp Observant, Poolsville, MD.
