Rainstorm Print
Sandburg was fascinated Japanese and Chinese paintings. He particularly liked the work of Japanese artists Hiroshige and Hokusai. He had collected many of their prints and gave them away as gifts to friends and he kept a few for his home. Sandburg told Walter Yust in a Dial interview in 1920 that he searched for "picture words" as the Indians and Chinese did. (Niven, p 365) Paper. L 16.8, W 38.1 cm
