By Crucita Gonzales Calabaza, Blue Corn
Blue Corn, a well-known potter, was taught by Maria Martinez in the San Ildefonso Pueblo matte-on-black style. Although Maria Martinez became the most famous of the potters who worked in matte-on-black, there are fine examples of this style by other potters from Santa Clara and San Ildefonso, past and present.
