Chair
Late 1930s
Civilian Conservation Corps enrollees made these wide, low armchairs of local Ponderosa pine wood with rawhide strips for the seat. They decorated the chairs with hand-carved birds, flowers, and geometric shapes. Cushions usually cover the seat. Several are often in use in the Visitor Center lobby.
