Ancestral Pueblo
Pueblo III - IV AD 1200 - 1550
Turquoise is a highly valued stone that was fashioned into a variety of objects. It was widely traded throughout the Southwest. Turquoise mines near Cerrillos, south of Santa Fe, have been used for centuries. This pendant was probably suspended from a cord and worn as a necklace or earring.
