Encampment Weekend 2017

A cannon is fired by 5 men dressed as Continental soldiers, with a billow of smoke coming from the mouth of the cannon.
Artillery firing demonstration provides quite a BOOM for visitors.

Join us for our annual encampment weekend!

Saturday and Sunday Encampment Schedule:

10 am: Camp Opens:. Come and meet the “soldiers” and camp followers as they drill, prepare food and talk about how they survived the "Hard Winter."

11am: Weapons Inspection and Firing Demonstration: Inspection of the re-enactor’s muskets prior to a demonstration in Continental Army maneuvers.

11:30am: Kid's Drill: Kids can become new recruits and try their hands at the musket drill under the watchful eye of the drill sergeant at the Wick House.

1pm: Military Drill and Demonstration: Hear the crack of the musket as re-enactors demonstrate Continental Army maneuvers.

1:30pm Kid's Drill: Kids can become new recruits and try their hands at the musket drill under the watchful eye of the drill sergeant at the Wick House.

2pm: Re-enactors Competition Games: Watch as re-enactors compete with each other in two 18th century games.

2:30pm: 18th Century Games Open to Visitors: Take your turn in playing the games re-enactors played.

3pm: Military Drill and Demonstration: Hear the crack of the musket as re-enactors demonstrate Continental Army maneuvers.


3:30pm: Saturday ONLY - Author Jeff Finegan, Sr. presentation based on his two books, Colonel Washington and Me and ‘Tis Well, which focus on the life of George Washington as seen through the eyes of his slave William Lee and physician James Craik. Meet in the Visitor Center.

3:30pm: Sunday ONLY - Kid's Drill: Kids can become new recruits and try their hands at the musket drill under the watchful eye of the drill sergeant at the Wick House.

4pm: Camp Closes
