FREDERICK: Sheltered in their basement during the Battle of Monocacy, the Thomas family emerged to find their home had sustained significant damage during the heaviest fighting of the battle. Take advantage of this rare opportunity as rangers and volunteers provide access and information about the home and family. Hear the stories of people who once lived there, see the battle scars that remain, and learn about the different phases of construction.

- Formal programs about the history of the Thomas House – 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 3:00 pm
- Historic Landscape Tours – 10:00 am, 12:00 pm, and 2:00 pm.
- Campfire program on “19th Century Holiday Traditions” – 6:00 pm.
This free event is located at 4460 Baker Valley Road, Frederick, MD 21704. Meet at the Tenant House (between main house and red barn) for scheduled programs.
