October’s Second Saturday is all about discovering the ancient life of Coldwater through the lens of fossil hunting and identification. Coldwater Spring is what is known as a fossiliferous park, or rich with fossils, due to Minnesota and the Midwest being covered by an ocean some 400 million years ago. Join NPS rangers and paleontologist to wander through the rich ancient history of an ancient and foreign world of long ago. Kids and youth earn a special paleontologist Junior Ranger badge.

This family-friendly event, as are all Second Saturdays, is free and open to everyone.
