Minnesota's Water Sustainability Framework: Update

Jean Coleman, Project Coordinator, Minnesota Water Sustainability Framework

In 2009 the UMN's Water Resources Center was charged by the Minnesota State Legislature to develop a framework for sustainable water management: a set of recommendations to protect and preserve Minnesota's lakes, rivers and ground water for the 21st century and beyond. After more than a year of collecting expert analysis by subject-specific work teams and public opinion surveys and holding listening sessions throughout the state, Ms. Coleman will discuss the Framework's possible outcomes, as well as what issues need to be resolved in order to reach those outcomes. Forum participants will be asked what they think should be done to solve identified problems and reach particular outcomes.
