Hours of Operation

The park is always open, except under emergency conditions. Sites, trails, and picnic areas are open 8 am–sunset.

 

Visitor & Research Center

Bookstore, restrooms, Virtual Ranger Station, and parking lot are open. Exhibits, information desk, and rest of building are closed until further notice due to COVID-19 precautions.

Ranger-Assisted Tours

A "ranger-assisted tour" is a timed-entry experience that allow visitors to move through a cliff dwelling in a socially distanced way. Rangers stationed along the route will provide brief interpretations of the site.

Wetherill Mesa

Currently closed for the season. Will reopen May 2, 2021 (weather permitting).

 
Wetherill Mesa will offer seasonal opportunities. Be sure to pick up a Wetherill Mesa Visitor Guide when you arrive. It will contain a map and information about the best way to visit this part of the park.

 

LATE SPRING - May 2 (weather permitting) to May 28

The Wetherill Mesa Road is open from 8 am6 pm.

Wetherill Mesa will be open self-guided only (no services or cliff dwelling tours). Step House will be open for self-guided visits as staffing allows (please check with a ranger for hours). The 5-mile, paved Long House Loop and other existing trails are open for hiking and/or bicycle riding. Long House, Kodak House, and Nordenskiold #16 cliff dwellings can be viewed from overlooks.

SUMMER/FALL - May 29 to October 23

The Wetherill Mesa Road is open from 8 am7 pm.

The 5-mile, paved Long House Loop and other existing trails are open for hiking and/or bicycle riding. Long House, Kodak House, and Nordenskiold #16 cliff dwellings can be viewed from overlooks.
