Due to insufficient snowfall and unseasonably warm temperatures, all activities on January 24, 2015 for the Mesa Verde Winter Festival have been canceled.
Winter trails will continue to be groomed and maintained for skiing and snowshoeing throughout the winter as conditions permit.
The status of the Full Moon Ski and Snowshoe event (see below), on February 1st, will be determined at a later date. Please check our website or contact the park for updates.
February 1 – 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. – Full Moon Ski and Snowshoe. Enjoy a unique opportunity to explore Mesa Verde’s Morefield Campground and Meadow Bliss trails in the moonlight. The trails will be lined with glow sticks, and glow stick jewelry will be provided. Join us out on the trail for complementary hot beverages and cookies.
Join a park ranger from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for Native American Star Stories and telescope viewing (conditions permitting) near the Morefield Campground Store.
Additional Details. Parking will be at the winter activities parking lot in the Morefield Campground Village, just four miles past the park’s entrance station.
A limited number of adult and child snowshoes will be available for checkout during the event.
There will be a drawing for prizes donated by local businesses and organizations such as Osprey Packs, Kokopelli Bike & Board, Slavens True Value Hardware, and the Mesa Verde Museum Association.
Activities are subject to cancellation due to weather or road conditions. Please call 970-529-4461 for more information. The staff and volunteers at Mesa Verde National Park thank you for your ongoing support.
