The Chapin Mesa Archeological Museum located in Mesa Verde National Park will be getting an electrical upgrade on November 7 and 8. The work includes the installation of energy efficient controls and power supply and will be done by Empire Electric out of Cortez along with Mesa Verde maintenance personnel.
The museum will remain open without electricity. Visitors will be able to tour the museum, but no lighting will be available. The Mesa Top Loop will remain open and free tours to Spruce Tree House will be held at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. The Mesa Verde Museum Association Bookstore will also be open.
