Bennett Clip 2

Timucuan Ecological & Historic Preserve

Transcript

Bennett Clip 2 Transcription via University of Florida Samuel Proctor Oral History Program:

Bennett: If the Timucuan Preserve ever becomes everything I dreamed of it being, it will protect a lot of these marginal types of marshes, rivers, and islands from exploitation by development. People, you children, grandchildren, and mine, will be able to see the world like it was, by the preservation of these areas. That touches me very greatly. It touches me enough to touch my pocketbook. My family was willing to let me to do this. I am not bragging, nor am I seeking any credit for it. It has been a joy to do it and I have done it.
