On Saturday & Sunday, November 11 & 12, 2017, the park will offer free guided Mammoth Passage and Frozen Niagara tours. Each Mammoth Passage tour is limited to 70 tickets and each Frozen Niagara tour is limited to 30 tickets. Visitors must pick up their free tickets at the visitor center prior to departure times. Mammoth Passage tours will depart from the visitor center at 9:30 & 12:30. The Frozen Niagara tours depart at 9:00, 9:45, & 3:00. Porch Talks are scheduled for 10:00 & 3:15.
Mammoth Passage is a ¾-mile, 1¼ hour cave tour, and requires a walk down and up the hill using the Old Guides' Trail, as well as 68 steps at the Historic Entrance. The tour meets at the Mammoth Cave Hotel in the Rotunda Room.
Frozen Niagara is a ¼ mile, 1 ¼ hour cave tour, and requires approximately a 15-minute bus ride to and from the cave entrance. There are 12 stairs required to complete on the trip with opportunity to take an additional 98 into an area known as the Drapery Room. This tour departs from Shelter B at the visitor center.
Tickets are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Be sure to arrive early in the day to secure a spot on the tour.
