You are invited to the annual Cave Sing at Mammoth Cave National Park! Embark into the cave where local musicians exhibit the cave's incomparable acoustics. End the festivities with complimentary cookies and cider at the Mammoth Cave provided by the Mammoth Cave Lodge!
At the Visitor Center
1:00 - 1:45 - Enjoy professional orchestral piano playing from Bowling Green's own Janet Bass Smith. She will be performing select pieces in the visitor center lobby.
In the Cave at Rafinesque Hall
2:00 - Depart to cave from Visitor Center. This year marks the return of the Spirit of the Commonwealth (formerly the Cavemen Chorus). Enjoying the swirling melodies created from an old-fashioned, acapella chorus, where the voice is the greatest instrument in creating music.
AFTER THE SING
3:30 - Mammoth Cave Lodge
Santa Claus arrives and complimentary refreshments are served courtesy of the Mammoth Cave Lodge!
The Cave Sing route involves a ¼ mile walk to the Historic Entrance, and approximately 70 stairs at the entrance. Rafinesque Hall is approximately a ¼ mile walk from the entrance of the cave. Cave temperatures will be cool so please plan accordingly. All those who attend the sing will be required to walk across a shoe cleaning mat when exiting the cave to aid in the prevention of spreading White-nose syndrome.
