MAMMOTH CAVE NATIONAL PARK -- The Houchins Ferry is experiencing engine problems (blown head gasket) and will be closed Monday, and probably at least part of Tuesday. Park staff are presently consulting with the Brandies Company, Louisville, about the availability of parts for the air-cooled diesel engine. Houchins Ferry will reopen as soon as the part can be obtained and installed.
Green River Ferry continues daily operations, 6:00 a.m. to 9:55 p.m.
