Free tours on Veterans Day

(MAMMOTH CAVE NATIONAL PARK – October 29, 2008) Superintendent Patrick Reed announced today that all military personnel, active and retired, and their families will receive free admittance to certain cave tours on Tuesday, November 11, 2008, in honor of Veteran’s Day. The fee waiver applies to the Historic, New Entrance, and Frozen Niagara cave tours only. 

 

“We want to say thank you to our country’s protectors,” said Reed.  “I hope that all service members take advantage of a free cave tour and spend the day in the park enjoying themselves.”

 

The free cave tours are offered at the following times on November 11:

 

Historic (limit 120 people)  11:15, 1:15

New Entrance (limit 118 people)  10:15, 2:00

Frozen Niagara (limit 39 people)  9:15, 12:15, 3:30

 

Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. For descriptions of the tours, please go to
