"Concessions services are essential to our visitors," said Superintendent Sarah Craighead. "We look forward to a new, long-term contact that will provide stability for overall park operations, particularly since park visitation has increased in recent years."
At the present time, Forever Resorts operates the park's concessions services at the Mammoth Cave Hotel under a temporary continuation agreement. Forever Resorts will continue until the new contract is in place.
In 2014, Forever Resorts had a successful year after several operational changes were implemented such as coordinating cave tour bus operations with food and retail concession services.
In conjunction with the new concessions contract, the park has committed about $3 million to renovation of the main lodge and Sunset Terrace Lodge rooms;construction is scheduled to begin in September 2015 and will require closure for 7-9 months. Temporary food and retail services will be provided during this period.
