Senator John Kerry and Congresswoman Niki Tsongas announced that the City of Lowell received a $5 million grant from the Department of Energy’s Recovery Act Retrofit Ramp-Up program for the “The Carbon-Neutral Lowell National Park and Preservation District initiative.” The grant will support programs to increase energy efficiency in historic buildings around the downtown historic preservation district and Lowell National Historical Park.
