Contact: Phil Lupsiewicz, 978-275-1705Lowell, Massachusetts. – Spring is here and Lowell has its sights on April PLAYcation! This annual lineup of free family fun takes place during April vacation. From April 13-20, 2019, more than a dozen partner organizations will host events throughout Lowell. Together, they will serve more than two thousand local kids and their families.
For 2019, families will enjoy an exciting variety of new programs and many returning favorites. There’s something for everyone, so get ready for a week full of creativity, discovery, and fun at April PLAYcation!
Here are just some of the FUN and free things you can do this year:
·Spring Fling (Coalition for a Better Acre): Celebrate spring, learn about planting, and great creative with spring arts and crafts.
·Weaving and Engineering Workshops (Tsongas Industrial History Center): Try your hand at weaving or complete an engineering challenge.
·Peas on Earth (Mill City Grows @ Mill No.5): Make a ‘Germination Necklace’ or decorate a cup with a pea plant that you can take home.
·Fun With Fish at the Spalding House (Lowell Parks and Conservation Trust): Explore the historic Spalding House and learn about fish migration through hands-on activities.
·Paint Your Town Art Program (NFI Family Resource Center): Get crafty and try sponge painting, water colors, marble painting, and more!
·National Junior Ranger Day and Fee Free Day at the Boott Cotton Mills Museum (Lowell National Historical Park): Tour the Boott Cotton Mills Museum for free and become a Junior Ranger!
