Adventure and eclipse viewing awaits along the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail on August 21. All sites along the 3,700 mile trail will experience a partial eclipse and many sites in Missouri and Illinois will see a total eclipse. No matter where you visit along the trail, you will be treated to an excellent viewing experience.

Teddy Roosevelt Visits the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail Visitor Center on August 12
The father of conservation, Theodore Roosevelt, will be speaking on conservation as well as presenting programs for families and kids as part of the Second Saturday program at Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail Visitor Center on Saturday, August 12. A full day of events are planned.

National Trails Day
The Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail beckons adventure and has a story to share with any person willing to experience it. National Trails Day is the only nationally coordinated event designed to unite all muscle powered trail activities with the goal of connecting more people to trails.

Speaker Series
Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail, Omaha, NE – The Saturday Speaker Series begins this year with Marlene Rivero on June 10, 2017. Marlene's one-woman show uses period dress and includes wonderful solo performances of period slave songs. Her original interpretation of the story of York (the slave of William Clark), is through the eyes of his slave mother. York was a member of the Corps of Discovery. He worked along side the rest of the members of the expedition as an equal, but after the Corps' return in 1806 he was given no compensation for the work he had done and returned to servitude as Clark's personal slave.

Chamberlain, South Dakota and Bismark, North Dakota to be sites of August 9 and 10, 2010 NPS Public Planning Meeting along Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail



During the months of August and September, the National Park Service (NPS) is inviting the public to participate in a series of public listening sessions across 11 states to discuss the future of Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail.

Lewiston and Spalding Idaho to be the First Two NPS Public Planning Meetings along Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail



During the months of August and September, the National Park Service (NPS) is inviting the public to participate in a series of public meetings across 11 states to discuss the future of Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail. Lewiston is the site of the first in the series.
