2017-18 Opportunities

The River Mile Teacher Training

September 27, 2017, 9:30 am - 3 pm
Fort Spokane Day Use Area, WA

Join park staff and other area educators to discover what's new with The River Mile and program opportunities with National Park Service rangers at Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area. Park education staff are gearing up for The River Mile programs as well as the other education programs we conduct at the park and your school.

The River Mile Academy

At this professional learning opportunity, classroom and informal educators will explore NGSS/STEM connections across the grades and the importance of field investigations and STEM outdoors.

Pacific Education Institute and local ESD educators will share tools and help you discover how you can incorporate real world projects into your curriculum.

This workshop offers 5 FREE hours of Washington State approved clock hours.

The River Mile Academy is held in conjunction with the Spokane River Forum Conference, November 14-16, 2017. Educators also attending the conference will have the opportunity to network with Spokane and Columbia River Watershed scientists and resource managers. Through scientific presentations focusing on these watersheds, participants will network with and explore potential opportunities for partnerships.
