UPCOMING LAKE MEAD NATIONAL RECREATION AREA EVENTS AUG 4 – SEPT 1

BOULDER CITY, Nevada – The following Lake Mead National Recreation Area events are happening  Aug. 4 to Sept. 1.

Gibson Library: Mojave Wildlife, Aug 4
Join a ranger at the Gibson Library in Henderson, Nevada, from 2-3 p.m. Aug. 4 to learn about the wildlife that are abundant and thriving in the Mojave Desert. For more information, call 702-293-8990.

Bullhead City Library: Arizona Explorers, Junior Ranger Program, Aug 4
Join a ranger at the Mohave County Library in Bullhead City, Arizona, from noon-2 p.m. Aug. 4 and enjoy a variety of Junior Ranger Arizona Explorer activities for children. Activities include learning how to plan a camping trip, setting up tents and learning about ways to explore Arizona's national parks. Those who participate will receive a special Arizona Explorer Junior Ranger badge and will be sworn in as official Junior Ranger Arizona Explorers. Ranger Chat: Wildlife of Nevada, Aug 6
Join a Nevada Department of Wildlife ranger at 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Aug. 6 at the Lake Mead Visitor Center and learn about the variety of wildlife living in the recreation area. The ranger will share tips about wildlife and answer questions about licenses and other regulations. For more information, call 702-293-8990.

Ranger Program: Ready, Set, Wear It! Aug 11
Join rangers from noon-2 p.m. Aug 11 at the Callville Bay Marina for a variety of water safety and family-friendly activities. Take a photo while wearing a life jacket and learn safe boating tips. For more information, call 702-293-8970.

Ranger Chat: Water Safety and You, Aug 12
Join a ranger at 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Aug. 12 at the Lake Mead Visitor Center to learn how to be safe this summer at Lake Mead National Recreation Area while wearing a life jacket. For more information, call 702-293-8990.

Laughlin Library: Arizona Explorers Junior Ranger Program, Aug 14
Join a ranger from 4-5 p.m. Aug. 14 at the Laughlin Library in Laughlin, Nevada, and enjoy a variety of Junior Ranger Underwater Explorer activities for children. Those who participate will receive a special Underwater Explorer Junior Ranger badge and will be sworn in as official Junior Rangers Underwater Explorers. Ranger Program: Fishing Fun at the Lake, Aug 25
Join a Nevada Department of Wildlife ranger at the Hemenway Fishing Pier at Boulder Beach from 7-9 a.m. Aug. 25 and try to catch some fish. NDOW will have fishing tips and limited bait and fishing gear to check-out. Guests can also bring their own gear. Water shoes, hats and sunglasses are recommended. Join rangers at the Lake Mead Visitor Center Aug. 25 to celebrate the 102nd birthday of the National Park Service. Come ask questions about the iconic parks found throughout the United States, including Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
