NORTHSHORE ROAD WAS TEMPORARILY CLOSED DUE TO FATAL MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT
BOULDER CITY, Nev. – Northshore Road at Lake Mead National Recreation Area remains temporarily closed in both directions from mile maker 30 to 32.5 due to a fatal motorcycle accident.
At 7:41 a.m. Aug. 11, the Lake Mead National Recreation Area Interagency Communication Center received an emergency call reporting that a motorcycle went off the road.
National Park Service Rangers from the Lake Mead District responded and found an adult male approximately 40-feet off the road. Rangers and paramedics from Mercy Air conducted life saving care. He was pronounced dead at 8:50 a.m.
Preliminary reports indicate speed as a contributing factor. The victim was wearing personal protective equipment. National Park Service Rangers are handling the accident investigation with the assistance of the Nevada Highway Patrol.
The identity of the driver will not be released until next of kin have been notified.
