UPDATE: NORTHSHORE ROAD NOW OPEN
BOULDER CITY, Nev. – Northshore Road within Lake Mead National Recreation Area is now open. It was closed for nearly six hours near mile marker 2 due to a fatal motor vehicle accident.
At 10:16 a.m. June 23, the Lake Mead National Recreation Area Interagency Communication Center received an emergency call reporting a head on collision involving two vehicles.
Emergency crews from the National Park Service and Henderson Fire Department responded to the scene. One adult male was pronounced dead. The Clark County Medical Examiner will determine cause of death and confirm his identity after next of kin have been notified.
Two others were transported to area hospitals by Mercy Air.
Nevada Highway Patrol and the National Park Service are investigating the accident.
