CONSTRUCTION UPDATES: ST THOMAS ROAD OPEN, LAKESHORE ROAD BEING RESEALED
BOULDER CITY, Nev. - St. Thomas Road, also known as Approved Road 109, which was closed Aug. 27 for repairs, is now open and can be accessed from Northshore Road within Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
While the road has been repaired, it is still a primitive roadway, so drivers should travel with caution during inclement weather.
On Lakeshore Road, about five miles from the Saddle Cove area to the Lake Mead Parkway turnoff are being resealed, limiting traffic to one lane. The work is scheduled to take place weekdays Oct. 18-26.
With the guidance of construction crews, north and southbound traffic are alternating travel through a single lane. Delays may take up to 30 minutes during peak travel times.
Repairs are also scheduled Oct. 24-26 within the Historic Railroad Tunnel Trail to remove loose rock at openings and to replace shotcrete in exposed sections. The tunnels will be closed during the repairs.
