1 INJURED IN BOAT ACCIDENT AT LAKE MEAD NATIONAL RECREATION AREA

BOULDER CITY, Nev. - A male was injured on Lake Mead around noon Sept. 18 when he was reportedly thrown from his boat.

At 12:02 p.m., Metro Police transferred a 911 call to the Lake Mead National Recreation Area Interagency Communication Center. The caller, a passenger on the boat, requested assistance for another passenger who he said was thrown from the vessel after it experienced mechanical issues just north of the Hoover Dam.

Emergency personnel from the National Park Service and Nevada Department of Wildlife provided medical aid on the boat and then transported the injured to land where he was medflighted to a local hospital.

The incident is under investigation.
