Fee Increase Proposal

Cave Rover Crew 2014
The 1st ever Cave Rover staff was funded by entrance fees in 2014. The goal of the program is to put park staff in our must popular caves every day, all summer, providing visitors with the opportunity learn about caving safely and cave resources as they cave on their own.  Pictured: Intern Andrew, Ranger Eric, and Intern Priscilla

Lava Beds National Monument would like your feedback on possible fee increases in 2015. The current park entrance fees have been in place at Lava Beds since 2003.

Fee dollars at Lava Beds National Monument have made possible the development and installation of park-wide wayside exhibits and road signs, rehabilitation of the Schonchin Butte fire lookout, and vault toilets at Merrill cave, Skull cave and Gillem's Camp. The additional revenue raised by a fee increase would be used to continue replacement of outdated waysides, develop new interpretive materials, and fund other visitor service projects.

Entrance Fees

Entrance fees are not charged to persons under 16 years of age or holders of the America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Passes including the Annual Pass, Senior Pass, Access Pass or Military Pass. Lava Beds annual passes are also valid for one year from the month of purchase. These passes may be obtained at Lava Beds.
