Saturdays at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center

Every Saturday night, "Rendez-vous des Cajuns" rocks the rafters at the historic 1920s Liberty Theater in Eunice.

The Prairie Acadian Cultural Center will be closed on Saturday, October 28, for the free Experience Louisiana Festival in Eunice---come join us!

Come pass a good time any Saturday at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center. Admission to the center is free.

10:00 a.m.-noon Explore & Restore crafts workshop for kids of all ages. Hands-on fun creating unique crafts out of everything from egg cartons to button to milk jugs. A parent or guardian must remain with children six and under. Free. Here's a list of items needed by Explore & Restore and how to donate.

1:00-2:00 p.m. Cajun Conversations led by Francophone student Mat Fruge encourages speaking and learning basic conversational Cajun French. Free.

Beginning at 2:45 p.m. Cajun music and dancing with center volunteers on hand to teach a dance step or two. Free.

Beginning at 4:00 p.m. Learn the secrets of local cuisine with area chefs and home cooks. Be sure to stay for the tasting after the cooking demonstration and don't forget to get a copy of the recipe of the week. Free.

At 6:00 p.m., it's time for an evening of live Cajun and zydeco music at Rendez-vous des Cajuns right next door to the center at the historic Liberty Theater. Follow the link for information on tickets and who's performing or call 337-457-7389.
