WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH EVENTS

Trial Reenactmentsat the Old Courthouse
Step into a restored courtroom and bring history to life! You will portray trial characters by reading scripts, arguing facts, and deciding a verdict. (60 minutes long.) For more information, check the dates below on our park calendar:

Weekends in March for the general public
Saturdays 11:00, 1:00, 3:00 pm
Sundays 1:00, 3:00 pm
(Dependent upon 8-10 participants)

Weekdays in March for school and civic groups
9:00, 10:00, 11:00am
(School and civic groups require reservations; please call 877-982-1410)

Film Series at the Old Courthouse
Each week we present a different film about women's experiences! Come down anytime between 8:30 and 4:30 to learn about voting rights, wild bronco riders, and individual women who made a difference. For more information, check specific dates on our park calendar.

Daily and throughout the day, March 7-April 3

Children's Story Timeat the Museum of Westward Expansion
Ranger-led reading of a book with topics of women in the west, followed by hands-on activities for ages 4-8 and/or preK-3rd grade. (30 minutes long)

Saturdays in March 10:15, 2:15 pm
Sundays in March 2:15 p.m.

Women Through Time Interest Project Workshop
at the Museum of Westward Expansion
An Interest Project for Cadette and Senior Girl Scouts with activities including interviewing, journalism, analyzing primary documents, nineteenth century crafts, and touring the Museum of Westward Expansion. Upon completion of the required pre-visit assignments, and attending the workshop, scouts will meet the requirements for the interest project.

Scavenger Hunt at the Museum of Westward Expansion
Participate in this scavenger hunt by searching out women of the west, while exploring history in the Museum of Westward Expansion for answers.

Daily and throughout the day in March
(Anyone can participate, programs are available at the Information Desk)

"Do You Know Any Women Like These?"
Through out March
This exhibit displays how 19th century women of the American Frontier
embodied similar characteristics to those women you know today.
Exhibit is free of charge

FAMILY JUNIOR RANGER PROGRAMS

10:00am - 11:30am
Free programs provide an interactive Junior Ranger experience for family groups with children ages 4-12 years of age at the Museum of Westward Expansion, the Old Courthouse, and the Gateway Arch Grounds.
