ENTRANCE FEES AT GATEWAY ARCH WILL BE WAIVED IN HONOR OF NATIONAL PUBLIC LANDS DAY
WHERE: Jefferson National Expansion Memorial, The Gateway Arch in downtown St. Louis, Missouri
WHEN: Saturday and Sunday, September 27 and 28, 2008
WHAT: The National Park Service will waive the entrance fee to the Gateway Arch in honor of National Public Lands Day. The fee waiver also applies to other agencies within the Department of the Interior, such as the Fish and Wildlife Service and the Bureau of Land Management, as well as lands managed by the Department of Agriculture's National Forest Service. Please note: The fees to ride the tram to the top of the Gateway Arch and viewing films at the park will remain in effect on this day.
WHY: National Public Lands Day is recognized each year to honor America's parks and other lands while promoting public stewardship for these areas.
