Jewel Cave National Monument is excited to announce the return of Cub Scout Adventures Day. On Saturday, July 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Cub Scouts will be able to participate in Park Ranger-guided activities in order to earn Adventure Loops. Activities will include a guided hike that will touch on wildlife and plant identification and hiking safety.
Jewel Cave is celebrating the Centennial of the National Park Service in 2016 with an assortment of special activities, including this special day for Cub Scouts. The following weekend, on July 23, the Monument will host Junior Ranger Day, focusing on nocturnal animals in the Black Hills.
Jewel Cave is open daily during the summer season from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with four different cave tour options.For more information, visit the Monument online at nps.gov/jeca. Visitors are also welcome to call the Monument at (605) 673-8300.
