Welcome to the National Park Service's Historic Jamestowne Traveling Trunk!
This is the online version of the Historic Jamestowne Traveling Trunk. It was designed by a teacher and staff at Jamestown to facilitate teaching Virginia SOLs concerning 17th century Colonial Virginia. We felt it was necessary to make the Traveling Trunk more accessible and have included all the activities and lesson plans that are found in the Historic Jamestowne Traveling Trunk.
The lesson plans and all other necessary documents can be accessed for use by clicking the links below the activity heading. We have included pictures of paintings or props required for the activities, so it is up to you whether you want to print them out for your classroom, access them online, or go out and buy the props. Feel free to make as many copies of these materials as you like.
At the time of creation of the Traveling Trunk, all websites were working and reputable. Please check all site before using them I the classroom.
Thank you for allowing your students to take part in learning about Jamestown and its importance in American history.
