Pets are permitted on park grounds as long as they are on a leash that is six feet or shorter in length and they are cleaned up after. No pets are permitted inside park facilities. There is a dog waste station available equipped with bags.

James A. Garfield National Historic Site has a B.A.R.K. Ranger Program for your dog(s)! You and your dog can participate in the program while walking the grounds of the park and take the B.A.R.K. Ranger pledge to get a dog tag!

Booklets are available in the Visitor Center. Once you've completed the activities please scan the booklet and email the site at jaga_interpretation@nps.gov. There are two different size tags, 1-inch and 2-inch, so please specify what size you would like!

Did you visit with your dog but didn't know about the program? The B.A.R.K. Ranger booklet can be sent to you via email.
